While Charlie Chaplin was a genius at the studio, his personal life was pretty much a wreck until he was much older. Once, in the midst of a nasty divorce, he fled to Salt Lake City from Hollywood with 12 crates holding coffee cans with 200 feet of film rolled into each can. He had a total 400,000 feet of film! His soon to be ex-wife had the backing of a powerful studio who was trying to get their hands on the film but he and his closest associates edited the movie in a makeshift cutting room aka a hotel room. When they finished, they had a secret preview at a local cinema. Only when the divorce was finalized did he turn to negotiations with the studio for his film to be distributed.
Oh the drama with Chaplin! He channeled his drama into creative brilliance; maybe the extension options in the guide will inspire some creative brilliance in your home!
